Maine College of Business and College of Technology students who want to complete an internship for course credit (example SPMG290, SPMG390, GPMT490, ACCT790) must: Register for and attend a required Internship Workshop and review the Student Internship Toolkit. This should be done at least six months before the desired semester of the internship Meet with and return all completed application paperwork to your Internship Manager by the stated application deadline (subject to change): • Fall semester: Aug. 1 • Winter semester: Dec. 1 • Spring/Summer semester: April 1 Start looking for and applying to internships on Panther Jobs; work with your Career Services Coach and Internship Manager to identify appropriate positions and sites *See your Academic Advisor for eligibility. Additional Options BUSN or TECH 489 Class Projects The Field Experience class is a great alternative to an internship. A cross functional group of students train to be consultants for a local organization and help with a current business need. From marketing and strategic planning to technological improvements, students engage with professionals to assess their needs and create implementable solutions. Prior Learning Assessment If you’ve gained college-level learning in your career and personal experience, complete a petition outlining your experience and find out if it qualifies for course credit. Petitions are assessed by faculty, and credit is assigned based on merit. DEADLINES Practicum All Allied Health and Health Information programs must complete a practicum.
